America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has once again threatened to increase tariffs on India. Trump said on Tuesday that if India imposes tariffs on America, then in response we will also impose equal tariffs on India. Trump said that India and Brazil are among the countries that impose the highest tariffs on American goods.
Trump said that if we send them any goods, they impose 100% and 200% tariffs on it. If they want to impose tariffs then fine, we will also impose equal tariffs on them. Apart from Trump, Howard Lutnick, Commerce Secretary in his administration, said that the way you behave with us, the same will be done with you.

Biden administration hopes for better relations
The US Biden administration, which is leaving power, has said that it is leaving US relations with India in a stronger position. Kurt Campbell, Deputy Secretary of State in the Biden government, said during a conference on Tuesday, ‘We hope that these will remain strong even during Donald Trump’s presidency. Trump will take relations with India forward.
Told that we have worked to strengthen relations with India in the last few months. High level talks have taken place between the two countries in the recent past. These also include the Quad Summit to be held in Delaware.
Campbell said that we have taken India’s relations in the field of industry, technology and defense to the strongest position ever. Both the countries are now working together for the space sector also.

Pannu and Adani case a challenge in India-US relations The Biden administration said on Tuesday that India-US relations have faced challenges due to the two chargesheets.
