Israel has announced the closure of its embassy in Ireland on Sunday. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar accused Ireland of double-mindedness and anti-Israel policy. This decision of Israel has come after Ireland recognized Palestine as a separate state.
Apart from this, Ireland has also supported the genocide case filed by South Africa against Israel in the International Court of Justice (ICJ). South Africa had filed a case against Israel in the ICJ in January this year, accusing it of genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza War.
Foreign Minister Saar accused Ireland of failing to act on rising cases of anti-Semitism. Due to these allegations, Israel had recalled its ambassador from Ireland in May itself.
