Mahfooz Alam wrote that Bangladesh is the starting point, not the end point.
The 53rd anniversary of independence was celebrated in Bangladesh on Tuesday. On this occasion, Mahfooz Alam, advisor to interim government head Mohammad Yunus, posted an incorrect map of Bangladesh. In this map, Mahfooz Alam has shown some parts of India’s Bengal, Tripura and Assam in Bangladesh. However, after the controversy escalated, this post was deleted.
While posting the map, Mahfooz Alam wrote on Facebook – India has adopted the ghetto program. To keep Bangladesh independent from dependence on India, it had to happen after 1975 by 2024. There is a gap of fifty years between the two events, but in reality nothing changed. We are trapped by geography and settlement.
We must remember that in South Asia Pakistan is the land of Ashraf Muslims, India is the land of Brahminical Hindus and Bengal (West Bengal and Bangladesh) is the land of all victims regardless of Hindu Muslim Dalits.
Bangladesh is the starting point, not the end point. From 1947 to 1971 and from 1971 to 2024 it is not over, history is still waiting.
Sheikh Hasina was overthrown this year In 1947, East Pakistan separated from India and became a new country. In 1971, East Pakistan separated from West Pakistan and became Bangladesh. In 1975, the first President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated by the Bangladeshi Army. At the same time, on August 5, 2024, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was overthrown.
India and Bangladesh swap land in 2024 Let us tell you that at present there is no major border dispute between India and Bangladesh. During PM Modi’s visit to Bangladesh in 2015, a border agreement was signed between the two countries. After this, in the same year i.e. 2024, India has handed over 56.86 acres of land in Ranishankoi Upazila of Thakurgaon to Bangladesh. In return, India has also received 14.68 acres of land from Bangladesh.
Inflammatory statements of Bangladeshi leaders continue However, after the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina, provocative statements are being made continuously by Bangladeshi leaders. A few days ago, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi had said that if India asks for Chittagong, we will take back Bengal, Bihar and Odisha.
In response to this, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said that what do you think, if you try to occupy our land then we will keep eating lollipops?
While addressing the West Bengal Assembly, Mamata appealed to the people not to be troubled by the statements being made in Bangladesh. He assured the public that West Bengal will always support the Centre’s decision. Mamta asked people to stay calm, stay healthy and maintain peace of mind.
