Death toll in Mumbai’s Kurla bus accident reaches 8, the accident took place on BEST bus on December 9.
The death toll in the bus accident in Kurla, Mumbai has increased to 8. Another person died during treatment on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Fazlu Rehman Shaikh (52). On December 9, a BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport) bus went out of control and collided with vehicles in Kurla. The incident took place around 9:50 pm. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had ordered an assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those who died in the bus accident.
Restrictions increased due to increase in air pollution in Delhi; Classes will again be held on hybrid mode till class five.
Due to increase in air pollution in Delhi, restrictions have been increased again. Commission for Air Quality Management said that instructions have been given to conduct classes again on hybrid mode till class five. Also, entry of diesel powered vehicles will be banned in Delhi.
Father raped 6 year old daughter in Maharashtra, raped her several times in the last 6 months
A case has been registered against a man for raping his six-year-old daughter in Thane district of Maharashtra. Police said that the accused raped the girl several times in the last six months. Based on his wife’s complaint, a case has been registered under BNS and POCSO sections.
Rouse Avenue Court issues notice to BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj; Satyendra Jain has accused of defamation
Rouse Avenue Court on Monday issued a notice to Bharatiya Janata Party MP Bansuri Swaraj in the defamation case filed by former minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendar Jain. Jain has filed a criminal defamation case against BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj. He has also filed a civil defamation case against him.
Jain alleges that Swaraj had made derogatory remarks against him in an interview given on a TV channel on October 5, 2023, which was watched by millions of people.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Neha Mittal issued notice to Bansuri Swaraj and scheduled the hearing on December 20 at 11 am.
School van overturns in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, 17 children injured, 3 in critical condition
A van carrying children to school went out of control and overturned in Basti, Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning. Due to the high speed, the gate of the van opened and the children fell out. Police said that some children were buried under the van. A total of 17 students were injured in the accident, the condition of 3 is critical.
The accident occurred near Sevra Lala village of Cantonment police station area at 7:45 am on Monday. The students traveling in the van are from King Late Mission School, Amodha. After the accident the minor driver fled from the spot. The children said that the driver was driving at high speed while talking on the mobile.

Singer-composer Pandit Sanjay Marathe passes away in Thane
Classical singer and harmonium artiste Pandit Sanjay Ram Marathe died at a hospital in Maharashtra’s Thane city, his family said on Monday. He was 68 years old. Sanjay suffered a heart attack and was admitted to a private hospital in Thane, where he died on Sunday night. Sanjay was the eldest son of music composer Pandit Ram Marathe.
Kurla BEST bus accident- death toll reaches 8; A team of 5 members is investigating the accident
One person injured in the BEST bus accident in Mumbai’s Kurla died on Monday morning, taking the death toll to eight. An electric bus running on wet-lease of Municipal Corporation-run Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) had crushed a crowd in Kurla area on December 9. 7 people were killed in this, while 42 were injured.
BMC official said that one of the injured, Fazlu Rehman, died during treatment at Sion Hospital on Monday morning. BEST has formed a team of 5 members to investigate the Kurla accident. Driver Sanjay More is in police custody.
BEST will give Rs 2 lakh to the family of each person who died in the accident. He will also bear the expenses of treatment of the injured. BEST has claimed that More was given three days’ training before being given permission to drive the electric bus.
Policeman shoots himself with service gun in Kerala; Claim- Was upset about not getting leave A 36-year-old policeman shot himself in Malappuram district of Kerala. The body of Vineet, who was part of the Special Operation Group (SOG), working as a Thunderbolt Commando in the district, was found in the bathroom of the quarter. Thunderbolt Force is engaged in anti-Maoist search operations.
It is being claimed that this soldier, a resident of Wayanad, was upset at not getting leave despite repeated appeals. However, the police have not confirmed this yet. The body has been sent to the nearby government hospital for post-mortem.

There is no possibility of new income tax bill being introduced in the budget session, review of VK Gupta committee continues.
The central government will not present a new income tax bill in the budget session starting in the last week of January. The Finance Ministry has ruled out the possibility of introducing a new Income Tax Bill. The VK Gupta committee, formed for a comprehensive review of the Income Tax Act, is likely to present its report before the budget for financial year 2025-26.
After this, based on the recommendations the committee will prepare a new bill in collaboration with the Law Ministry. It will later be sent to the Standing Finance Committee. An official associated with the matter said that currently the committee is reviewing various recommendations received from experts and others.
According to sources, the committee is considering creating a comprehensive schedule of taxes similar to the Customs Tariff Act.
Shiv Sena MLA Narendra Bhondekar angry over not getting a place in the cabinet, resigns from party posts
Shiv Sena MLA Narendra Bhondekar has resigned from all party posts expressing disappointment over not being included in the Maharashtra cabinet. Bhondekar was the deputy leader of Shiv Sena and coordinator of East Vidarbha district. Speaking to the media in Bhandara on Sunday, he claimed that party chief and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had promised him a place in the cabinet.
Bhondekar said he deserved a place in the cabinet for becoming the guardian minister of Bhandara district and working for its development. A total of 39 Mahayuti MLAs took oath on Sunday in the first cabinet expansion of the Devendra Fadnavis-led ministry, including 16 new faces, while 10 former ministers were left out.
Maharashtra government will introduce 20 bills during winter session With the completion of the cabinet expansion in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced that the government is planning to introduce 20 bills during the upcoming winter session of the Maharashtra Assembly. The session of Maharashtra Assembly is to be held in Nagpur from December 16 to December 21. The state government is going to introduce 6 brand new bills in the legislature, while 14 ordinances are to be introduced in the assembly to be converted into bills.
