A fire broke out on Wednesday in three shops on the road leading to Mata Vaishno Devi cave in Jammu and Kashmir. All three shops were burnt to ashes. The incident took place in Charan Paduka area of Reasi district, where the fire that broke out in a shop engulfed other shops as well.
The team of Police, Fire Service Department and Shrine Board together brought the fire under control. The cause of the fire has not been known yet. Rescue operation is going on. At present there is no information about any casualty.

Delhi BJP announces state election committee for assembly elections, 21 leaders included in it
Delhi BJP has today announced the State Election Committee for the upcoming assembly elections. In this list, State President Virendra Sachdeva, National General Secretary D.K. 21 names including Gautam, Manoj Tiwari, Bansuri Swaraj, Arvinder Singh Lovely and Satish Upadhyay are included.
Assembly elections in Delhi are likely to be held in February 2025. The tenure of the current government ends in January 2025. The Election Commission of India has not announced the dates yet.
2020 Delhi riots accused Umar Khalid gets 7 days interim bail
Delhi’s Karkardooma Court has granted seven days interim bail to former JNU student leader Umar Khalid to attend his cousin’s wedding.
Khalid will be on bail from 28 December to 3 January. Umar Khalid was arrested in September 2020 in a case related to conspiracy in the 2020 North-East Delhi riots and is currently in judicial custody. His bail petition is pending in Delhi High Court.
The court had earlier rejected his bail plea saying that the allegations made in the case have not been proved wrong yet.
Boat sinks in Mumbai, 30-35 people on board, rescue work underway
A boat going from Mumbai’s Gateway of India to Elephanta Island sank. There were about 30-35 people in the boat “Neelkamal”. This incident happened near Uran and Karanja. Three people are reported dead in the incident.
Navy, Coast Guard, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), Yellow Gate Police and local fishermen are working together to rescue the passengers. Till now most of the passengers have been evacuated safely. Rescue is going on now.
The reason for the incident has not been clear yet. The incident reportedly occurred near Elephanta Island, and passengers are being brought back to the Gateway of India. Read the full news here…
ED raids Agra businessman’s house, had talked about donating Rs 510 crore for Vrindavan corridor
ED raided the premises of Agra real estate businessman Prakhar Garg on Wednesday morning. Apart from his Agra house, ED teams also reached his Noida locations simultaneously. Two months ago, an FIR for fraud of Rs 9 crore has been registered against Prakhar Garg. 25 cases of fraud are also registered against him. A year ago, he had expressed his desire to donate Rs 510 crore for the Vrindavan Corridor, after which he came into the limelight.
NIA raids 17 places in 4 states in AK-47 recovery case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday raided 17 places in four states in the case related to the recovery of AK-47 and bullets in Bihar. This action took place in a case related to Fakuli police station area of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, which was registered by Bihar Police on May 7. The investigation of which went to NIA on 5th August.
Four people have been arrested in this case. Investigation found that arrested accused Vikash Kumar purchased AK-47 from Ahmed Ansari of Gopalganj and gave it to Devmani Rai of Muzaffarpur. After interrogation, police recovered AK-47 and five live cartridges from a bridge near Malkoni Road. Ahmed Ansari was arrested by Bihar Police from Dimapur in Nagaland. During this time, mobile phone and two walkie-talkies were found from him. NIA is investigating the case.
Army-Police search operation in Jammu and Kashmir; Four pistols, 6 magazines recovered
Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a joint search operation in Amrohi, Tangdhar, Kupwara. During the search, four pistols, six pistol magazines and four kilograms of narcotics were recovered.
House caught fire in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua, 6 died due to suffocation
Six people died in a fire in the house of a retired DSP in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. 3 others were injured. A neighbor was also injured during the rescue. The cause of death is said to be suffocation.
Delhi Police destroyed more than 10 thousand kg of illegal drugs, worth ₹ 1682 crore in the international market.
Delhi Police organized a mega drug destruction event in Jahangirpuri area on Tuesday. In this, more than 10,600 kg of drugs have been destroyed. The price of these drugs in the international market is said to be more than Rs 1600 crore.
All these drugs have been destroyed in the presence of Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. These included many drugs like ganja, heroin, cocaine, MDMA, poppy seeds, doda poppy, ketamine, intoxicating injections.
LK Advani’s condition improving, likely to be shifted from ICU soon
The health of senior BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister of India Lal Krishna Advani is improving. According to Apollo Hospital, he is under the care of Dr. Vineet Suri in the ICU since December 12 and his condition is gradually improving. He can be shifted from ICU to general ward in the next 1-2 days.
