Arindam is a student of Presidency College. Hindus live in hostels. In one bowl of the cooker, rice, some pulses in one, and vegetables in the other and water in all were filled in the cylinder. He lit the lower furnace and went to take a bath. Come and get the books ready, cooking is complete. All food is cooked. Go straight to college.

Another view of 20th century Calcutta. Animesh Sanyal is a resident of Fariapukur in North Kolkata. Newly married government employee. Wife cooks before going to office. But since his parents died, bachelor Animesh used to cook by himself. Didn’t have to cut much. That was the ecmic cooker. Ancestor of the pressure cooker
Twentieth century ie the last century is in a sense the golden age of Bengali. What is science, what is literature, talent is spreading everywhere. The Ecomic Cooker is one such genius spread. This special cooker was invented by Bengali researcher Indumadhav Mallick. The predecessor of the present day pressure cooker was the ecmic cooker. But it is wrong to say only ancestors. It can be said that cookers made of copper were much more efficient. Because three-four kinds of cooking could be done in this cooker. As a result, a lot of time was saved.
How was it discovered?
How the Ecomic Cooker was invented is also quite an interesting story. Puri has been a traditional Bengali tourist spot and pilgrimage site since the time of Sri Chaitanya. Bengali researcher Indumadhav once visited that Puri. On the day he went to visit Jagannath’s temple, Tagore went there. He saw a big pot lying on top. Put another big bone on it. Another one on that. In this way, a total of five-six pots are placed in a row. A breakthrough idea immediately played in the scientist’s mind.
Popular since before independence
In the year 1910, the production of economic cookers started with the initiative of Indumadhav. Cookers gained immense popularity as soon as commercial production started. Messer started to become popular among the youth. Because the convenience of cooking, saving time. In those days, however, the number of nuclear families was very few. But among the few families that were there, this cooker gradually became popular. Later, however, the ecomic cooker slowly lost its popularity. Modern pressure cookers and cooking appliances started taking over the space. Cooking gas took the place of the furnace. Many families still find this type of cooker if they look for it. But the usage has decreased a lot. Someone might have sold it, in someone’s case, an outstanding discovery of a Bengali might have been placed in the mound of Basankosan.
