Materials for making Puranpoli
- Strained soaked lentils
- Round – 1 cup
- Elchi- half teaspoon
- Wheat flour – 2 cups
- Flour – 1 cup
- Salt – as per taste
- Ghee – as required
- Nutmeg- 1 chapati
Puranpoli Method of preparation
First cook soaked gram dal with 1 tsp ghee and turmeric in a cooker till 2-3 whistles. Then separate it from the water in a bowl. Now grind this buffalo dal gently. Next, add ghee and elchi powder to a pan and let it rise for 5 minutes till the ghee dissolves. Then add mashed dal to it and mix evenly. Keep stirring till a smooth texture paste is prepared. Once this paste is made, keep it cool.
Make dough to make puranpoli
After that, now prepare the dough. To prepare this dough, you will need flour, plain flour, salt and some ghee and water. Prepare with these ingredients in the same way as normal dough is mixed. After kneading the dough, apply some ghee to it, cover it with a wet cloth and leave it for 20 minutes.
Add 1 tsp of desi ghee to serve puranpoli.
After that keep the pan to heat, you have to make puranpoli in the same way as we make parotta roti at home. Make a ball of the prepared dough and roll it, then roll it again with lentils. Next, coat the pan from both sides with ghee. Then finally serve Puranpoli with 1 tsp of desi ghee on top.
