Women of the family mourn after the death of Khanna’s youth in Georgia
12 people, including 11 Indian citizens, died under suspicious circumstances in an Indian restaurant in Georgia. The dead included a Georgian citizen. It is reported that all the bodies were found in the room of the restaurant where the employees slept.

According to the official report, among the dead are restaurant staff members. There are no injury marks on the bodies of the deceased, which shows that they died due to an accident. In the initial investigation, the cause of death is said to be the use of generator in a closed room due to lack of light. One of the dead is Sameer Kumar (26), a resident of Khanna city of Ludhiana district of Punjab.

Sameer had gone to Georgia 6 months ago
Sameer is a resident of Khanna’s Bilanwali Chhappadi. He went to Georgia about 6 months ago. There Tiklish was working in the Indian-Arabic restaurant Haveli in the capital. Sameer’s brother Gurdeep Kumar told that December 14 was Sameer’s birthday.
Sameer went to sleep the night before after talking to his mother Santosh Kumari on phone. After this the family members made many calls, but there was no response from Sameer. Calls were made to his friends. He also did not reply.

When he contacted the restaurant number from the internet, the manager informed that all the 12 people sleeping in the rooms, including Sameer, had died due to gas leakage. Apart from this nothing else was told.

Not getting help from embassy, government and administration
Gurdeep Kumar told that he called the Indian Embassy to bring his brother’s body to India and to know the correct information about the incident. No help was given to him from there. Nor was any satisfactory answer received. No representative of the government, no official of the administration is helping them. They are in trouble and don’t know how to bring their brother’s body back to India.
The family members demanded from both the Central and Punjab governments that Sameer’s body should be brought to India by any means so that they can perform the last rituals and perform Sameer’s last rites as per the rituals.
