2 cups rolled oats
2 teaspoons of oil
1 teaspoon of cumin
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon red chili powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoons fresh coriander
Method of preparation
1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin and splutter it.
2. Add green chillies and onions, mix well and fry till onions turn golden.
3. Add tomatoes and salt, cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
4. Add red chili powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
5. Add oats, 4 cups water and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Add a spoonful of green gram and mix well.
6. Garnish with remaining coriander and serve hot.
