Shantiniketan Posh Mela 2024: Police in police six times. It was felt while getting down at Santiniketan station. After 2019, Poush Mela is being organized again in 2024 following the ancient tradition. Sometimes the fair was closed in 2020 due to covid. From 2021 to 2023, Vidyut Chakraborty, Vice-Chancellor of Visva Bharati had various problems with the state government. As a result Visva Bharati and Santiniketan Trust could not organize the fair. After 5 long years, the organization of the fair is said to be a frenzy. On the other hand Santiniketan has already become a World Heritage. As a result, the state police is not lax in security.
2-3 thousand police deployed
Along with the Poush Mela 2024 premises, the entire Santiniketan has been wrapped in tight security. Two to three thousand police, civic volunteers are there to control the situation. Emergency surveillance has been started at each gate of the fair to control traffic. Also, aerial surveillance system. A special guide map has also been released.
Strict surveillance in the airspace
Drones, watch towers have been arranged for aerial surveillance of the entire fair. There will be five drones in the sky for surveillance. On the other hand, 10 watch towers have been installed. Besides, more than three hundred CCTV cameras have been installed in the fair premises and at each entrance.

There is a police control room
The police control room has been opened in the fair premises. Any problem can be reported by calling the police helpline. Anti-crime team has been deployed by Birbhum district police. A total of 18 officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police, SDPO, DSP are in charge of the security of the fair. Also, a total of 12 anticrime teams and plainclothes police are present at the fair. This special team is deployed to prevent crimes like robbery, rape of women.

Special security arrangements for women
A special security team has been deployed at the fair for women. There will be winners team and special pink mobile van. This team is deployed in and around the fair grounds.
Environment friendly fair
Organized by Visva Bharati and Shantiniketan Trust, the fair has been made environment friendly. Adequate quantity of bio toilets and temporary toilets have been kept inside the fair. Apart from the State Police, several volunteer teams have also been deployed by Visva Bharati. They will spread awareness about the environment by going around the fair.
