Sonic the Hedgehog 3 doesn’t hit theaters until December 20, but spoilers have already leaked online, including its end credits scene that sets up a fourth film.
As reported by Kotaku, smart phone recordings of the end credits scene in particular have appeared on social media websites such as X/Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.
Fans looking forward to Sonic 3 – which sees the introduction of Shadow the Hedgehog as a new villain played by The Matrix star Keanu Reeves – may want to take measures to avoid spoilers in the coming days.
The end credits scene is especially valuable because, after introducing Knuckles in the second film and Shadow the Hedgehog in this third, it will introduce the big addition coming in the fourth Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
Director Jeff Fowler said in November, “It’s fun to watch fans debate online about who’s coming up, who’s going to be teased.” “We have a lot of the same conversations. We all have our preferences in filmmaking, and we all make great cases for ‘it should be this one or that one.'” It’s fun to hold onto that expectation. This movie is no different when it comes to teasing new characters.”
Of course fans can find that as the objective when Sonic 3 hits theaters later this week. “Sonic, Knuckles and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they’ve encountered before,” reads the synopsis.
“With every means at their disposal, Team Sonic must find an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping the Shadows and saving the planet.”
